Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your first class.

I'm completely new to Pilates. Where should I start?
We recommend starting with our new client special — 5 group classes for $100. Or if you'd like one-on-one guidance first, try 3 private sessions for $210. Both give you a solid introduction before committing to a regular schedule.
What's the difference between equipment classes and mat classes?
Equipment classes use the Reformer, Chair, and Tower — spring-loaded apparatus that add adjustable resistance and support. Mat classes focus on the original exercises of Joseph Pilates using your body weight. Both are 55 minutes and build real strength. Equipment classes cap at 6 people; mat classes allow up to 10.
What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable, fitted clothing that lets you move freely and won't get caught in the equipment. Socks with grips are recommended for hygiene and safety. We sell grip socks at the studio if you need a pair.
Do I need to bring my own mat?
Nope. We provide all mats, props, and equipment. Just bring yourself, a water bottle, and a willingness to try something new.
Can I do Pilates if I have an injury?
Absolutely. Many of our clients come to us for injury recovery and prevention. Private sessions are ideal if you're working with a specific issue — our instructors will tailor the work to your needs and communicate with your physical therapist if you'd like.
Do you offer classes for seniors?
Yes. Our Boomers 65+ class is a group equipment session designed specifically for students aged 65 and older. Our staff is specially trained in senior fitness to keep you safe and progressing.
What is the CoreDynamics teacher training program?
Pilates Miami Shores is an official CoreDynamics Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training center. The program is rooted in the classical tradition of first-generation master Eve Gentry and meets the PMA's criteria for inclusion in the Registry of Schools. Contact us for admittance requirements.
How do I book a class?
You can book through our website contact form, call us at (305) 758-7270, or message us on Facebook @PilatesMIA. We also have a WellnessLiving app for managing your schedule and bookings.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 12 hours notice for cancellations. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged for the session. We understand life happens — just give us a call if something comes up.
